Sagittarius: Tina Turner
Nov. 26,  1939  /  8:50 AM, EST, Bronsville, T
Sun and Ascendant: Sagittarius

Tina Turner is a true Centaurian thoroughbred.  The animal nature of her sign becomes apparent when she gallops on stage, kicks the air, rears her head and tosses her reddish hued mane.
Tina has her Sun, Ascendant, Mercury and Venus in Sagittarius;  Also Saturn and Pluto are in fire signs.  It’s no wonder she’s such a bundle of energy!  In addition to her Sagittarius, Jupiter and Neptune are placed in mutable signs.  This makes her “wild-fire” even more restless and changeable.
Tina clearly demonstrates how these abundant fire and mutable energies affect human expression.  As she gyrates on stage, you may notice how the fires burn in a criss-crossing “Mobius” pattern.  Any fiery outburst on one side of the body seems to be quickly reversed by a “back draft” which draws the torch to the other side of the body.   These “bi-cameral” firings are most noticeable in the rotating movements of the body’s dual extremities— the hands, arms and legs.  (They also can be seen in subtler facial

expressions).  A hand gesture on the right may shimmer and shake, then turn to create a countering left-handed flare up.  A high step to the right is followed by a skip to the left.  Any forward surge ends up moving to one side or the other, then to the rear.  A upturned smile on the left raises the right eyebrow.  Unlike the blowtorch of Aries or the concentrated heat of Leo, Tina’s fires divide and spread in all directions.  Perhaps that’s why her energy seems inextinguishable.
Tina shows several other physical traits associated with  Sagittarius.  Note the high cranial dome, the long neck, the large
thighs, the broad frontal teeth and the horsey eyes that slant upward on the outer sides.  (You may also notice that these Centaurian eyes constantly twinkle).

Moon: Taurus
Like a bull in a china shop, Tina creates quite a commotion.   At 29 degrees of earthy Taurus, her Moon creates a sextile to her fiery Sun and Pluto.  This arrangement suggests that those “red flags of fire” can easily arouse her bullish emotions; In contrast, it still allows her to slow down, enjoy the moment, relax and “smell the roses”.
But, as we saw in “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”, Tina grounds down when she becomes emotionally attached to her valuable possessions.  These Venusian objects heighten her senses as well as her sensuality.  Watch how the nostrils widen and the eye brows fix.  Listen to how the Sagittarius laugh shortens into a contented snort of pleasure— when she responds to those earthly delights.
Alas!  Such tranquility is short lived, for this restless horse desires to break free from Fixed Earth’s confining energies.  After a quick graze, she’s ready to bolt— and race off across the plains to pursue greater trails and greener pastures.

CAPRICORN: NICOLAS CAGE
Jan. 7, 1964 5:30 AM, PST  Long Beach, CA

Sun: Capricorn
Nicolas’ hangdog countenance made him one of the 1980’s least likely stars.  Who’d expect someone with thinning hair, a wispy voice and such a  “sleepy” appearance to succeed in movies?  Against the odds, this  goat was determined to make it on his own!  Cage changed his name from Nicolas Coppola to avoid coasting on his uncle Francis Ford Coppola’s famous name.  And in his 1989 film “Vampire’s Kiss”, he even ate a live cockroach on camera!  Clearly, he give his all for his art, proving the adage that Capricorns will eat a tin can to prove a point!
With Nicolas, we can show how transits and progressions alter an individual’s creative urges, as we see how Saturn and Uranus influenced the progress he made in his career.  In 1987, transiting Uranus was on his ascendant and his Sun was progressed into Aquarius.  In this “Uranian period”, Cage seemed  interested in only pursuing offbeat, eccentric projects.  That year, his two performances (as the hapless bandit in “Raising Arizona” and as Cher’s reluctant beau in “Moonstruck”) established him as a distinct, character actor.  By 1995, Cage's progressed Sun approached his

natal Venus and Saturn in mid-Aquarius.  Saturn's increased influence became apparent.  In that year, Cage got married, remade Capricorn Richard Widmark’s role in “Kiss of Death”, and reaped Saturn’s rewards with his Oscar winning role as a suicidal cynic in “Leaving Las Vegas”.   By 1998 (when his progressed Sun conjuncted Saturn), he was well established as a steely, bulked-up action hero— thanks to the success of such films as “The Rock” and “Con-Air”.   After the turn of the century, expect a return to the “absurd-side” as these Saturn energies wane and his ascendant progresses into Aquarius.     NOTE COMMENT LOWER RIGHT!**
Ascendant: Sagittarius
In interviews, Cage usually trots on to the stage appearing jubilant and restless.  You might be able to see the fiery sparkle in his eyes.  Once seated, Cage slowly removes the fiery shield as he begins to express his solar
energies.  Bit by bit, the expressions become more firm and ever more serious.   Before our eyes, the free spirited horse transforms into a well-grounded, wily goat. The energies of expression may change, but the physical container is defined (via bone structure) by the ascendant.  Consequently, Nicolas shows many qualities typical of a Centaur.  He has a long face and jaw, and like a horse, the neck stretches out far beyond the shoulders.  Also, the lengthy thighs and arms accent a lanky body.
Moon: Libra
With Venus on his Sun’s ruling planet Saturn, Nicolas has “substantial” appeal.  With a Venus-ruled Moon sextile Saturn, the hardened granite edges are softened and he appears noticeably lighter and talkative— particularly when he becomes emotional.  Often, with Saturn’s link-up, the lethargic side of Libra shows— giving his thick lashed eyes a “sleepy” and effeminate quality. Fortunately, these Venusian energies are well integrated and well used; Cage’s work and his art become inseparable.

Aquarius: OPRAH WINFREY
Jan. 29, 1954 / 7:58 PM, CST, Kosciusko, MS
Birthtime may be wrong!!!
Sun: Aquarius
At Oprah’s birth, the heavens indicated that there would be a potential for “fixed air” to find new levels of expression.  Not only was the sun in Aquarius, four planets were in Air signs and five planets were in fixed signs.  Notably, many people were born with these astrological opportunities, but it was Oprah who had the will and determination to use these gifts to become one of the truly original communicators of our time.  Expressing Aquarius’ humani- tarian ideals, she revolutionized talk-show television by making her audience part of a greater social consciousness.
In Oprah, we see the Aquarius mental process— which works like an “electronic capacitor”.  The electricity is stored “on hold”.  When it reaches its programmed threshold, it releases its energy.   You can see the process in a nano-second freeze-frame of time, when Oprah’s entire body goes on hold.   The eyes appear to look more inward than outward, the fingers lock to become rigid “antennas”, and the breath seizes with a deep gasp.  (This draws the mouth tightly down, exposes the lower gum and creates a facial expression which reflects awe and
surprise). In this moment, Oprah

receives another inspired message from “out of the blue”.   The acquired data is impulsively released in electrical discharges.  With Venus and Sun square Saturn , Oprah has learned to keep at least one foot on the ground!
Positively, this anchor has made her practical and prosperous. It also instilled a commanding “sense of duty” which (in earlier years) restricted her personal feelings and relationships.
Moon: Sagittarius
When Oprah reacts to others — the fires ignite, the spirit soars, and we get an emotional respond that is uplifting and exuberant: “Wow” ...”Amazing” ... “That’s wonderful!”  Watch how the eyes spark as the gestures become animated and scattered.  When the archer’s arrows “fly to the moon”, you can feel the emotions expand, open up and widen as they become more
accepting and bigger in scope.  Perhaps this is why Oprah places few judgements on others.  In combination with that eternally hopeful Sun Sign, we get a personality that is irresistible. It’s no wonder she’s everybody’s friend!
Ascendant: Virgo???
Oprah’s Virgo ascendant is sextile to that previously mentioned Saturn— which adds to her urge to dutifully serve others.  It also influences her outward appearance and public personae.  Like most Virgo risings, she is always meticulously quaffed and conventionally dressed.  This mask makes her more inquisitive and chatty but it also keeps the Aquarius from  becoming too radical and revolutionary.  Unlike other “trash-talk” shows, Oprah remains respectful and attempts to keep appearances dignified and proper. (The recent Monica Lewinsky money demands were beyond her acceptable limits).
Virgo is Oprah’s only connection to earth and it’s substantial  presence makes those abstract Aquarian thoughts easier to digest.  It also influences the subject and nature of her show.  (Many shows examine self-help, diet and health concerns).

PISCES: ELIZABETH TAYLOR
Feb. 27, 1932  20h00 GMT, London
Sun: Pisces
The "roller coaster ride of fame" came early for this sensitive soul.  After the debacles of Cleopatra, seven marriages and the latest "tell-all book", you wonder how she managed to keep the ride "rising to another peak", over and over again.
With Sun/Mars square Moon and her Pluto square Uranus/Venus in the 7th house, you expect difficult marriages & provocative associ- ates (like Michael Jackson and Rock Hudson). With a Pisces Sun, you expect transformational changes, but nothing like Liz's miraculous magic, where she resurrects her natural beauty again and again, seemingly at "Each and Every Time She Falls in Love".  Oh, the power of love!
When Liz's Pisces Sun is expressed, her deep purple eyes widen and her face fostens and rounds.  Expressions change fluidly as she emphathizes with the surrounding mix of feelings.

Ascendant: Libra
When the Sun and Moon are inactive, the watery wash of emotions subside as the calming breeze of Libra spreads over the surface.  With "Air" rising, Liz often presents an equalizing mental front (which moves in opposite directions to current winds) to keep things fair & equal.  Cardinal Air makes her more "outward" and more open to others.  Physically, it gives her the beautiful well proportioned body features, the vibrant eyes & the charming smile associated with Libra.
Moon: Scorpio
The Moon indicates how we respond to others.  Recall Cat on A Hot Tin Roof and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and you'll get the idea on how a Scorpio Moon reaction can really sting!  With those lunar afflictions, we see why Liz's temper became "venomous" at times, notably when her desires weren't fullfilled.
This Moon placement gives her compassionate and wavering Pisces Sun the determination and strength to battle for her convictions.  With Pluto in the tenth, she may be best remember- ed for her valiant fight against AIDS-- and for her lovely gift of revealing that those mysterious rejuventation secrets are possible for all of us.
